I’ve always loved music from experiencing live performances to just jamming out on long car rides. Music is a connection that people get to make without ever having to actual connect with anyone and it is so comforting and safe that there is really nothing like it.
The following is my progression into the world of music, production and sound design that I hope to only advance in.
Travel with me in this piece – Quasar
A sound design project based the 1966 novel by Philip K. Dick, Now Wait for Last Year. The attempt here was to connect to one of the characters in the book who suffers from drug abuse and tormented marriage and clasp of life.
The vocal samples in the piece were recorded and modified based on the quotes from the character in the book. The formation and hypnotic musical structure are vital to the overall message that is being made.
Simple piece
Fun with sampling speeches. This is a sample of Taylor Swift and Natalie Portman who both make speeches about the power of the self and the commitment you must put towards your dreams. Swift giving a speech about the musical world and the struggle of being a song writer and singer and Natalie Portman presenting a commencement speech at her Alma Mater, Harvard University. The result is a fun inspirational musical track that is inspiring and moving.
Simple commercial backtrack that builds as it goes
