Growing up I always had an interest with video production.  I remember watching movies as a child and thinking to myself why they made the choices they made involving angles and certain cuts.  Now as a graduate from UCSD and having taken numerous film production courses I can’t watch any film without further thinking of such decisions.  I don’t think that I could ever get bored of creating these visual movements that just describe a world that was first created in my mind and then set to the real world through the positioning of actors and stylistic forms of editing.  Creation is just overall something I will never let go of and I hope to continue being creative with whatever path I pursue in my career goals.

The following are a few pieces that I chose to highlight some pieces I have worked on in the past years.

This piece is a different adaptation to the video I have below title “Eradicate”.   I took the video and put it to my own musical sound scoring which only grew the theme of conformity.  Through the words of Earl Nightingale we can see that man is his own worst enemy sometimes and must fight to keep his mind free of any toxic nature.

  • Eradicate Conformity

Short Documentary Piece based on the relationship of a girl and her Horse.  Rachel Darby is a fellow student at UCSD that has been riding dressage for most of her life.  The connection a trainer has with the animal is amazing and the determination to keep up with a sport like this shows dedication and commitment for both the rider and the noble steed.

Creative Creation Video

  • Piece that is meant to show a fun and easy to follow guide that is effective in allowing for viewer to understand and create on their own by the use of this guide.

Sound Design

  • Clip from the film “Space Odyssy” where I remade the sound design for the following scene.

This was  a final project made in my “Hard look at the movies” class at UCSD which focused on films in the socially conscious and political nature that explored themes in nationalism, propaganda, patriotism and cultural nature.  This short film is a product of the socially programmed human who is controlled by their government.  We are stripped of our free will and we are given into the propaganda that is fed to us.   Conformity is forced onto us and our free spirit is eradicated.

This was a collaborative project made with my class partner Carter Wogahn.  All the visuals and music composed in the track was produced by the two of us and the samplings were of two interviews by George Orwell and Aldous Huxley.

During my time at TorreyNine Production as a video intern I got to take on editing the footage for a private school in Los Gatos Ca, Hillbrook School.  Although I myself did not shoot the videos or record the sound I had to fix the problems with sounds and lighting and put the video together.
